When The Spruce included us in their Top 16 Man Caves That Aren’t Just for Men, it sent us down a rabbit hole of some of our firm’s favorite interior design modern man cave moments.  Join us as we revisit spaces in the home made just to lounge, relax with a drink or play a game of pool, showing you 10 Ideas of How to Make a Room More Than a Man Cave.

WHAT IS A MAN CAVE?

Years ago, the idea of a man cave was primarily where a man can hang out and do manly-man things, in a dingy basement surrounded by dark and dated furniture. Boy, have things changed!  Today, these rooms are proudly out in the open, and are more modern, nuanced and sexy – and not just a place for the guys.

WHAT GOES IN A MAN CAVE?

The idea of this space is really just a comfortable place to get away from it all – a place relax, hang out and have a good time, whether you’re solo or with friends.  We see it as warm and rich in texture, often including a blend of mixed materials that feels like a laid back expression of yourself and your interests.

Here are 10 Tips to make your space More Than a Man Cave:

It’s becoming more popular to convert an unused room in the house into a game room.  Add a pool table in your room, or bring it out to the formal living room.  Whatever you do, select a table that matches with your home interior design style.
