We are thrilled to join the Council for Inclusive Capitalism!  In aligning with this organization, we pledge to promote environmental sustainability and social inclusion by working with companies who practice sustainable principals.  And we will allocate 35% of our interior design purchases to these companies in the next 24 months.

The Council’s mission is to mobilize “the private sector to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and trusted economic system.  They are a global movement of business leaders who work in ways that benefit people, communities and the planet.”  In working with them, we hope to address climate change and growing inequality.

ABOUT THE COUNTIL FOR INCLUSIVE CAPITALISM

The Council for Inclusive Capitalism started in 2020 after the Pope contacted Lynn de Rothschild (head of the group) and asked her to form a council that “listened to the cry of the Earth and the poor.”  The council  includes over 300 members and 20 of the top leaders in business, religion, government who join and make a public pledge how they will be more sustainable in work practices, manufacturing and promote capital equity for people around the globe.

Jaipur Living

Similar to brands who are members of Fair Trade Coffee, we pride ourselves in partnering with companies involved with Good Weave whose vision is a world free of child labor.  Or companies like Jaipur Rugs, whose mission to employee women, pay fair wages and educate girls.

Good Weave

Our goal is attainable.  Lori Dennis and Sara Plaisted are incredibly passionate about sustainability, and are dedicated to working with at least 35% of companies who practice sustainable goals by July 2024.  For the past 10 years, we have been a GREENLeader with the Sustainable Furnishings Council.  And many of the furniture lines we consistently select are also members of SFC.
