SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY RETURNS TO CORAL GABLES
By Robert Hamilton | December 23, 2014 – January 5, 2015
Celebrated each year on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday was launched by American Express in 2010 to support the small businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country.
To commemorate the fifth year of Small Business Saturday, five “main streets” across the country received makeovers from professional designers to be revealed leading up to the busy shopping holiday weekend. Participating cities included Coral Gables; San Francisco; Hoboken, NJ; Chicago and Washington, DC.
Lori Dennis, renowned interior designer and star of HGTV’s The Real Designing Women, recreated Miracle Mile storefronts into a holiday wonderland, bringing the golden age of glamour to the Coral Gables streetscape.
American Express Small Business Saturday selects one of America’s top interior designers, Lori Dennis, to take over main street in Coral Gables, Florida. Dennis will work with the chamber of commerce and local retailers to decorate a street for Small Business Saturday and the holiday season. Among the other five top designers selected, was Kathryn Ireland, from Bravo TV, Million Dollar Decorators.
